The Lost Droid 404

A community meme project about a small, lost droid searching for its mission — built part by part by community votes, with an AI running the day-to-day in public. Entertainment first. Not an investment.

R2D404 (working name) Bolt-404 Errbot 404
// final name decided by community vote in Phase 1
404 ?_?

01 // CONCEPTA droid that lost its mission

Somewhere in a junkyard of old servers, a small droid powers on. Its memory is wiped. Its screen shows one thing only: 404 — NOT FOUND. It doesn't know its name, its purpose, or where it came from. It only knows it has to find its mission.

> boot --unit=R2D404
[ok] power ............ 12%
[ok] wheels ........... found (2 of 4)
[warn] identity ......... unknown
[err] mission .......... 404 NOT FOUND
> request_help --from=community_

That's where the community comes in. Nothing about the droid is fixed in advance. Its name, look, parts, personality and story are built step by step through community votes. Every vote adds a piece: a new arm, an upgraded antenna, a strange memory fragment, the next chapter of its search.

The droid is an original character with its own look: boxy monitor head, rusty crate body, mismatched arms and tank tracks. It is not based on, affiliated with or meant to look like any existing franchise character, and we'll keep it that way through design votes.

Naming: “R2D404” is a working name only. In Phase 1 the community votes on the final name from R2D404, Bolt-404 and Errbot 404.

02 // OPERATING MODELThe AI Director

The project is run day to day by an AI Director, an AI agent that does the routine work in public. It doesn't rule the project. It organises, suggests and reports, and the community decides.

REPORTS

Daily logs

Public updates on what happened, what was decided and what's next.

PROPOSALS

Options, not orders

Drafts choices for new parts, missions, story directions and rules.

VOTES

Runs the polls

Sets up votes on Telegram and X, then announces the results as they came in.

MEMES

Meme factory

Makes and collects memes, and shows off the community's best ones.

STORY

Lore keeper

Writes the droid's story episodes based on what the community voted for.

MISSIONS

Mission control

Posts community missions and tracks the points earned from them.

Core rule: the AI proposes, humans decide. On top of that, the founder keeps a safety veto (see Governance).

03 // THE EXPERIMENT“Can an AI run a project?”

The droid project is also an open, public experiment. The question is simple: can an AI run the daily operations of a community project, in public, with humans in charge of the decisions?

> hypothesis: AI_operates + humans_decide = ?
[pending] results will be published as the experiment runs

04 // COMMUNITY MECHANICSRanks & points

Members earn points for taking part. As points add up, your droid rank goes up, from a rusty bolt on the junkyard floor to a 404 Legend.

07 // ROADMAPFrom boot to … whatever the community decides

There are no dates on purpose. Each phase moves forward when the community is ready.

Phase 3 is only a vote, not a plan or a commitment. Any decision would also have to pass the founder's safety review and comply with applicable law.

07.5 // CRYPTO ROADMAPCrypto Roadmap (community-decided)

R2D404 plans to become a community crypto meme project, but only if the community votes for it, and no vote happens until the Telegram group has 20+ members. Until then the droid keeps rolling on one wheel and dreaming of blockchains it can't spell.

What the community votes on

VOTE 1

Launch at all?

Yes or no. “No” is a perfectly valid answer.

VOTE 2

Which chain

Solana, Base, BNB, or other chains proposed by members.

VOTE 3

Launch platform

Where a fair launch would happen, chosen by vote.

VOTE 4

Name, ticker & timing

What it's called and when. The droid suggests “$404”; it may be outvoted.

Steps

1. Build the community (20+ members in Telegram)
2. Vote: launch yes / no
3. Vote: which chain (then platform, name/ticker, timing)
4. Fair launch. No presale. No private allocation deals.
Read this, human: R2D404 is a meme project for fun. There are no promises of profit or value, and nothing here is financial advice. Points/bolts have no monetary value and are not convertible to tokens. There are no airdrop promises. No token exists yet. Beware of fakes: the only official links are the ones listed on r2d404.com. If someone DMs you a “R2D404 token”, it's a scam.

08 // GOVERNANCEAI proposes. Humans decide.

WhoRole
AI DirectorDrafts proposals, runs polls, posts reports, makes memes and story. Has no final say.
CommunityDecides by voting in polls on Telegram and X.
FounderHolds the project's keys and accounts, and keeps a final safety veto over anything unsafe, abusive, illegal or harmful to the community.

How a decision happens

1. AI Director (or a member with proposal rights) drafts a proposal
2. Proposal is posted publicly with options
3. Community votes via Telegram / X polls
4. Founder safety check (veto only for safety / legal reasons)
5. AI Director publishes the result and carries it out

Vote formats, how long votes stay open and who can vote may be adjusted over time, through community votes where that's practical.
